So decadent and creamy and buttery…warms you right down to your toes!

Ok.  We’ll need 1 cup of white sugar, poured into a medium pot…

IMG_8434

then add 1 cup of packed brown sugar…

IMG_8435

and lastly 1 cup of salted butter.

Cuppa, cuppa, cuppa…easy, easy, easy to remember.  Cuppa white, cuppa brown and cuppa yellow!

Cook over low heat until butter is melted, stirring off and on.  This will take around 8-10 minutes.

IMG_8438

And will look like this gorgeous mixture.  But wait…it only gets better…

Remove from heat and add…wait for it…

IMG_8439

Oh yes.  I went there!  Break out that delicious vanilla ice cream…

IMG_8440

and add 2 cups of it to the mixture in the pot…

IMG_8441

stir until ice cream melts and you just want to cry thinking about how amazing this is going to taste and wondering at what cost…

until it reaches this perfect golden color.

Next you’ll want to, really want to, add a little less than 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and a little less than 1 teaspoon of nutmeg.

IMG_8452

Mix together.

IMG_8455

And don’t be afraid of the cloves.  They’re essential to the magic that happens in your mouth when you take that first sip!

IMG_8453

Add about 1/4 teaspoon cloves and stir.

IMG_8444

Find your largest, most favorite mug…

IMG_8445

fill the bottom quarter of it with some of that golden syrup,

IMG_8446

add about an ounce of “la pièce de résistance”, rum! …

IMG_8443

top with boiling water…

IMG_8451

stir with a spoon, and try very hard not to burn your lips in your haste to taste that luxuriously self-indulgent first sip!

Bon Appétit, Ma Chérie!
